Organizations We Support
In addition to receiving a lot of help from others, the Northwestern Cycling Team likes to give back to the community in a few ways. Below are some of the organizations we’ve worked with and have bike initiatives that we wholeheartedly support.
World Bicycle Relief
Based in Chicago and sponsored by SRAM, World Bicycle Relief specializes in large-scale, comprehensive bicycle initiatives by providing supply chain management, technical knowledge and logistics expertise to poverty relief and disaster recovery initiatives. The team has donated and worked with World Bicycle Relief to support the organizations programming. Visit http://www.worldbicyclerelief.org/.
With My Own Two Wheels
For many Americans, the bicycle is a choice. An expensive toy. An eco-conscious mode of transportation. For countless others across the globe, it is much more. With My Own Two Wheels weaves together the experiences of five individuals from around the world into a single story about how the bicycle can change the world—one pedal stroke at a time. The team co-hosted a screening of this film on campus. Visit http://www.withmyowntwowheels.org/.
